One of CU-Boulder’s unique qualities is the active participation of our students in the creation of our campus Honor Code and the Colorado Creed. Collectively, our students believe in academic integrity, moral and ethical conduct, and pride of membership in a community that values academic achievement and individual responsibility.

Honor Code
Read the Honor Code

The purpose of the honor code at CUBoulder is to secure for students an environment in which all individuals have responsibility for, and are appropriately recognized for, their individual academic and personal achievements.

“On my honor, as a University of Colorado Boulder student, I have neither given nor received unauthorized assistance on this work.”
—Honor Code Pledge

The Colorado Creed, developed by students in 2003, is a set of principles, a lifestyle, by which students at CU-Boulder live. The text of the Creed is:

As a member of the Boulder community and the University of Colorado, I agree to:

  • Act with honor, integrity, and accountability in my interactions with students, faculty, staff, and neighbors.
  • Respect the rights of others and accept our differences.
  • Contribute to the greater good of this community.

I will strive to uphold these principles in all aspects of my collegiate experience and beyond.
