Colorado Department of Transportation Information Hotline Colorado Ski Country Report 303-825-SNOW(7669) • www.coloradoski.com Some of the best downhill skiing and snowboarding in the world is available a relatively short distance from Boulder, includingWinter Park, Vail, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Eldora, Aspen, Snowmass, Steamboat Springs, and many others. National forest and park service lands are open to cross-country skiers wherever there’s snow. Maps of national forest and park locations are available at retail stores specializing in mountain sports. The map below shows almost all of Colorado’s 25 ski resorts, many of which are less than three hours away, depending on road conditions. Eldora is a short 21 miles from Boulder. Breckenridge is 101 miles from Denver. If you’re interested in going a little farther, try Aspen (220 miles from Denver) or Powderhorn (250 miles from Denver). Of the resorts further south not included on the map,Wolf Creek, Durango Mountain Resort, and Telluride are roughly 300 miles away. |
